Aon Plc has kicked off a jumbo US investment-grade debt offering to help fund its planned $17 billion acquisition of USI Insurance Services from private equity firm KKR & Co.. The company is expected to sell $13.5 billion of notes as part of the funding package, which may also include a $4 billion term loan, according to a S&P Global Ratings note. The seven-tranche offering has bonds ranging in maturities from three to 30 years, according to a person familiar with the matter, matching details in Friday’s preliminary prospectus. Initial price discussions for the longest tenor are for a premium of about 1.5 percentage points above Treasuries, said the person, who asked not to be identified because they’re not authorized to speak publicly. Bank of America Corp., Citigroup Inc., HSBC Holdings Plc, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo & Co. are managing the note sale, the person added.
