Under CEO Belén Garijo, Sanofi has halted the development of several medicines and is working on taking a more rigorous approach to its future pipeline. The drugmaker is under pressure to do a substantial deal to replace the impending loss of revenue from its top-selling skin and asthma medicine Dupixent. The drug is set to start losing patent protection in the early 2030s. Sanofi has indicated it could pursue late-stage M&A in high growth areas, with rare diseases highlighted as a space of interest. The latest Sanofi-Cheplapharm transfer is set to begin in 2027 and is expected to be completed by the third quarter of that year.
