埃德蒙顿警察局称，警员周日早上响应了唐斯代尔大道与第45大道附近一处住宅的报警，据报道一名持枪男子进入该住宅并向里面的一名女子和一名婴儿开枪。

警方表示，当警员到达现场时，他们“遇到了目击者和受伤人员，并立即开始对住宅实施包围。”埃德蒙顿警察局称，这名36岁男子随后持枪打开前门，当他没有遵从口头指令时，三名警员开枪射击。

The EPS tactical emergency medical support team attempted life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene, police said. An infant and two women were treated and transported to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. The Police Review Commission was notified about the incident and has since directed the the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) to investigate.
