The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is looking into a social media allegation that dog meat was being sold illegally in Singapore.
Facebook群组“Dogs Singapore”分享的截图似乎显示一则越南语广告，出售各种不同部位的狗肉。周五上午查看时发现，包含该截图的帖子已被删除。该局周五清晨表示，从未批准任何狗肉来源。
The screengrabs shared on the Facebook group Dogs Singapore appeared to show an in Vietnamese offering various cuts of dog meat. A check on Friday morning found that the post containing the screengrab had been deleted. SFA has not approved any source of dog meat, the agency said early on Friday morning.
该局表示：“所有进口食品都必须符合新加坡食品局的要求。从不明来源非法进口的食品可能带来食品安全风险。”
“All food imports must meet SFA’s requirements. Illegally imported food products from unknown sources can pose a food safety risk,” the agency said.
肉类及肉类产品只能由持牌进口商进口，且必须来自经新加坡食品局认可的来源。
Meat and meat products can only be imported by licensed importers and must come from sources accredited by the SFA.
新加坡食品局表示，出售在没有有效牌照或进口许可的情况下进口的肉类及肉类产品，属于违法行为。
It is an offence to sell meat and meat products that have been imported without a valid licence or import permit, SFA said.
销售非法进口肉类及肉类产品者一经定罪，可处以最高5万新元（3.9万美元）罚款、最高两年监禁，或两者并处。累犯可被罚款最高10万新元、处以最高三年监禁，或两者并处。
Those convicted of selling illegally imported meat and meat products can be fined up to S$50,000 (US$39,000), jailed for up to two years, or both. Repeat offenders can be fined up to S$100,000, jailed for up to three years, or both.
新加坡食品局表示，食品安全是“共同责任”，并指出进口商和零售商必须确保带入新加坡销售的食品符合其进口要求，并且可以安全食用。
SFA said food safety is a “joint responsibility”, adding that importers and retailers must ensure that food products they bring into Singapore for sale comply with its import requirements and are safe for consumption.
