Let me get this straight: Because President Trump launched Operation Epic Fury against Iran for the purpose of denying the mullahs access to a nuclear weapon — a red line that every U.S. politician has embraced in the past — and because Americans are paying more for gasoline and diesel than they were a year ago, voters are now set to elect anti-U.S., anti-Israel candidates who want to destroy the economic system and institutions that have made the United States the strongest, most prosperous nation on earth.

Did I get that wrong? Has Americans’ hatred of Donald Trump made them simple? Do they really think that Democrats like Abdul El-Sayed, who is running for a vacant senate seat in Michigan, loves our country and aligns with our values? The candidate who, when pressed, would not explicitly condemn Iran’s Revolutionary Guard — the thugs who killed tens of thousands of their own countrymen and have orchestrated the murders of thousands of Americans through their villainous terror proxies? El-Sayed, who spouted the wonders of Medicare-for-All and promised to eliminate private insurance until it threatened to derail his campaign, flip-flopping on a central plank in his platform? El-Sayed, who calls Hasan Piker, the anti-American Israel-hater who said "Americans deserved 9/11" a friend? Come on folks, that’s not who we are.

MORNING GLORY: ROGERS VERSUS EL-SAYED IS A REFERENDUM ON THE FUTURE OF AMERICA

Here are three reasons why voters must come to their senses before they commit a grievous error in the midterms:

1. Democrats promise "affordability," but always deliver higher prices. Always.

2. Voters need to look at our economy — not the alarmist headlines crowning liberal publications, but the growth that is happening under our feet, and understand that Democrats will reverse our progress.

3. Americans also must realize how quickly Democrats will revert to the policies that voters turned against two years ago: an open border that allowed millions of unvetted people to enter our country illegally, soft-on-crime regulations that handicapped our cops and made our streets more dangerous, and green energy diktats that strangled America’s abundant fossil fuels industry, eliminating a gigantic competitive advantage.

Do we really want to go back to Joe Biden’s woke and feckless America? There were good reasons that Americans elected Donald Trump in 2024; those reasons still exist.

OUR CLOSING ARGUMENT: THE MIDTERMS ARE A REFERENDUM ON WHO RUNS YOUR LIFE Let’s start with the absurd notion that Democrats can deliver "affordability." Of the ten most expensive states in the U.S., all but Alaska are run by Democrats. Of the top ten most expensive cities in the U.S., all but Miami are run by Democrats. Is this a coincidence? No. Democrats favor high taxes and cumbersome regulations; both drive costs higher as businesses pass those charges along to their customers.

California imposes a 74 cent per gallon tax on gasoline — the country’s highest. New York’s horrendously complex building regulations mean it takes longer to build in New York than any other place on earth (literally), which drives housing costs higher. Governor Kathy Hochul slapped a recurring $22 Congestion Pricing fee on big trucks delivering groceries or other goods to New York City stores — who do you think pays for that?

When she ran for president in 2024, Kamala Harris wanted to roll back Trump’s 2017 tax cuts that put $2,000 extra cash in the pockets of the average American family; every single Democrat in Congress voted against the Big, Beautiful Bill that cut taxes on tips and overtime and delivered thousands of dollars more for working people.

Joe Biden increased the federal government workforce to a record high of around 3 million (excluding Census years); Donald Trump has shrunk that body to 2.67 million. Trump thinks it’s more important to grow manufacturing jobs than the federal bureaucracy. That’s what’s happening now.

DSA-BACKED CANDIDATES ARE WINNING PRIMARIES AND THEIR VISION FOR AMERICA IS VERY DIFFERENT Democrats want to expand welfare programs, doling out taxpayer-funded benefits even to people not in the country legally; Republicans want to cut back on spending, in part by rooting out fraud and waste.

The economy is growing at better than 5%, according to the Atlanta Fed, with investment soaring, especially in AI-related businesses. Americans have been led (in part by Chinese propaganda) to fear AI, but as this dazzling new technology delivers new cures for cancer, improvements in our failing education system (which Democrat- supporting teachers unions will oppose) and boosts business productivity, the country will prosper. Yes, the government should work with the AI companies to ensure our safety. No, Congress should not be given any role in the oversight. Trump has this right.

Child poverty in the U.S. dropped to an all-time low last year, while real median household income was the highest on record. Household net worth is up 17% since Donald Trump took office in January 2025 and the stock market is hovering near all-time highs, benefiting the 62% of Americans who own stocks directly or indirectly. All these wins could evaporate if Democrats take power.

MORNING GLORY: FIVE SENATE RACES SHOW WHY DEMOCRATS MAY REGRET THEIR PRIMARY CHOICES How would that happen? First, Democrats will reopen the border; some candidates like House contender Darialisa Avila Chevalier want to eliminate it altogether. Second, the party, led by non-Democrat Bernie Sanders, will move to hamstring the growth of AI, benefiting only China. Third, a Democrat Congress will loosen recent changes to Medicaid eligibility; our welfare ranks and spending will start to grow again.

Fourth, as Joe Biden did, they will try to slow down the growth of U.S. oil and natural gas production by again taking Alaskan acreage out of play, reining in LNG exports or cutting back lease sales and drilling permits. Fifth, they will fight any extension of Trump’s tax cuts, increasing uncertainty and dampening business investment.

I get it; Trump has made a bunch of missteps, like pushing to put his name on the Kennedy Center and fighting unnecessarily with Canada and members of the media. But on substantive issues, he is righter than he is wrong. Democrats, on the other hand, are entirely wrong.
