MOSCOW, Sept 29 - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Tuesday he had agreed with Russia's Vladimir Putin that Gazprom would take part in a project to build a nitrogen fertiliser plant in Belarus, and proposed involving the United States, state news agency Belta reported.
作为俄罗斯的亲密盟友，白俄罗斯在经历多年的孤立和西方制裁后，一直寻求改善与华盛顿的关系。自2025年以来，明斯克与美国唐纳德·特朗普政府之间的接触日益频繁。
Belarus, a close Russian ally, has sought to improve ties with Washington after years of isolation and Western sanctions. Contacts between Minsk and the administration of US President Donald Trump have intensified since 2025.
卢卡申科表示，他和普京已同意建设该工厂，并且选址工作已经完成。他引用自己的话说：“我们应该向美国人发出邀请。他们需要化肥，包括氮肥，所以请，让我们利用你们（美国）的技术一起建设它。”
Lukashenko said he and Putin had agreed to build the plant and that a site had already been selected. "We should make an offer to the Americans. They want fertilisers, including nitrogen fertilisers, so please, let’s build it together, using your (US) technology," he was quoted as saying.
他说：“如果不这样做，我们就与俄罗斯天然气工业股份公司、与俄罗斯人一起建设，并销售成品。”
"If not, we’ll build it with Gazprom, with the Russians, and sell the finished product," he said.
唐纳德·特朗普总统周一表示，华盛顿正在洽谈一项从白俄罗斯购买钾肥的协议，价格将低于美国目前支付给加拿大的价格。
President Donald Trump said on Monday that Washington was working on a deal to purchase potash fertiliser from Belarus for less than the US currently pays to Canada.
