The UN Security Council adopted a draft resolution Tuesday to extend the mandate of the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) in Haiti for another six months, until March 31, 2027.
该决议由巴拿马和美国起草，获得12票赞成，中国、巴基斯坦和俄罗斯弃权，无反对票。
The resolution, penned by Panama and the US, received 12 votes, with China, Pakistan and Russia abstaining. There were no votes against.
决议还要求联合国秘书长继续通过联合国海地支助办公室提供后勤和运营支持。
It also asks the UN secretary-general to continue providing logistical and operational support through the UN Support Office in Haiti.
GSF于2025年9月30日首次获得授权，接替了多国安全支助特派团。
The GSF was first authorized Sept. 30, 2025, succeeding the Multinational Security Support mission.

Speaking after the vote, US envoy to the UN Mike Waltz said, “For decades, the international community has watched Haiti cycle through crisis after crisis. Missions have come and gone.”“Today marks the next stage and a new chapter in Haiti, or I’m proud to say we’re trying something genuinely different, and we certainly, along with our co-pen, appreciate your support in trying a new model and a new approach,” he said.
据沃尔兹称，GSF“目前已有1500多名士兵在地面部署，未来几个月还将有4000多人抵达。”
According to Waltz, the GSF has “more than 1,500 troops on the ground and 4,000 more are slated to come in the coming months.”

UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric told reporters that the UN “secretary general welcomes the adoption of Resolution 2829, which renews the mandate of the Gang Suppression Force and extends the mandate of the UN Support Office in Haiti.”

He said that Antonio Guterres urges “member states to build on this momentum by working without respite to ensure the timely deployment of the remaining personnel, so that the force can fully undertake its important mandate."
