埃及周三宣布，8名自5月起在索马里邦特兰地区附近被劫持的埃及油轮船员已获释。
Egypt announced Wednesday the release of eight Egyptian sailors who had been held aboard an oil tanker hijacked off Somalia’s Puntland region since May.
埃及外交部表示，这些在“尤里卡”号（M/T Eureka）油轮上的船员于5月2日在邦特兰海岸被劫持后现已重获自由。
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said the sailors, who were aboard the M/T Eureka, were freed after the vessel was hijacked off the coast of Puntland on May 2.
此次获释得益于埃及外交部长巴德尔·阿卜杜勒阿提与索马里及也门官员进行的持续外交接触。
Their release followed sustained diplomatic contacts by Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty with Somali and Yemeni officials, the ministry said.
阿卜杜勒阿提已指示埃及驻摩加迪沙大使馆接收这些船员，确认其健康状况，并安排他们搭乘最早的航班返回埃及。在被扣押期间，船员们一直与家人保持联系以报平安。
Abdelatty also instructed the Egyptian Embassy in Mogadishu to receive the sailors, check on their well-being and arrange their return to Egypt on the earliest available flight. The sailors remained in contact with their families during their captivity to reassure them about their safety.

The Foreign Ministry said in May that the M/T Eureka had been hijacked near the Somali coast with eight Egyptian sailors aboard and instructed its embassy in Mogadishu to work for their safety and swift release.
5月2日，也门海岸警卫队曾报告称，一艘载有12名埃及和印度船员及2800吨燃料的油轮在也门东南部舍卜沃省海岸被劫持并被带往索马里方向。
On May 2, the Yemeni Coast Guard said an oil tanker had been hijacked off the coast of Shabwah province in southeastern Yemen and taken toward Somalia. It said the tanker was carrying 12 Egyptian and Indian sailors and 2,800 tons of fuel.
索马里海域曾在2008年至2018年间海盗活动猖獗，随后几年有所平息，但自2023年底起，受地区安全局势紧张影响，海盗活动再次抬头。
Somali waters saw widespread piracy between 2008 and 2018. Piracy declined for several years before re-emerging in late 2023 amid rising security tensions in the region.
