Many of them ran as Trump copycats, raging against the media and “cultural Marxism”. And so the latest Latinobarómetro poll, taken in 17 countries and published exclusively by The Economist is intriguing: it finds that although large majorities favour trade with the United States, views of the country have turned much more negative since Mr Trump came back (see chart 1).
