Micron Sues China's YMTC Over Alleged Engineer Poaching and Trade Secret Misappropriation Micron filed a federal lawsuit in Boise, Idaho, accusing Chinese memory manufacturer Yangtze Memory Technologies Co. (YMTC) of systematically poaching former Micron engineers to misappropriate 3D NAND trade secrets.

According to the complaint, YMTC incorporated stolen proprietary processes into its NAND production and patent portfolio, subsequently using those patents to initiate infringement lawsuits against Micron in the United States, Europe, and China. Micron is asking courts to transfer ownership of the contested patents to itself.
