- The U.S. is pressuring Russia to release details about the death of a plague research lab worker.
The State Department warned Moscow that failing to disclose more information about the lab worker’s death runs counter to its international health obligations, U.S. officials said. Russia has provided the U.S. with little information about the mysterious episode, which has stirred fears that an infectious disease might spread inside Russia and beyond the country’s borders.
