On Friday, he said that Russia had agreed to immediately supply more than 300,000 metric tonnes of diesel to the US and global markets, followed by another 500,000 metric tonnes in November and one million metric tonnes thereafter.

On September 14, Trump stressed that Russia and Ukraine had agreed not to strike each other’s energy targets, linking rising global diesel prices largely to their war. "Ukraine has agreed not to hit Russian Energy targets. Russia has agreed to do, likewise! The World’s Diesel price rise is mostly caused by the Russia/Ukraine War, not Iran," he wrote on Truth Social.
