The Alamein Africa Forum opened on Friday in the northern Egyptian city of New Alamein, bringing together 1,500 officials, business leaders, investors and representatives of financial institutions from Africa.

The three-day forum includes three high-level conferences focused on economic development and continental integration, according to a statement.
埃及总理穆斯塔法·马德布利在论坛开幕式上指出，当前非洲正处于一个“关键时期”，既面临诸多挑战，也蕴含着经济转型与克服发展障碍的宝贵机遇。
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said at the welcoming session of the inaugural forum that Africa is at an “important moment” that offers significant opportunities for economic transformation and overcoming development challenges.
他表示，非洲拥有丰富的自然资源、庞大的消费市场、全球最年轻的人口群体，在制造业、能源、农业、科技、服务业及数字经济领域均具备巨大发展潜力。
He said the continent has vast natural resources, a large market, one of the world’s youngest populations and major opportunities in manufacturing, energy, agriculture, technology, services and the digital economy.
不过，马德布利也指出，非洲目前仍面临融资困难、基础设施建设滞后、资本成本偏高、市场间联系薄弱以及阻碍区域内贸易与投资的各类壁垒等挑战。
Africa, however, faces challenges related to securing financing, developing infrastructure, high cost of capital, strengthening links between markets and removing barriers that continue to restrict intra-African trade and investment, he said.
他强调，此次论坛举办之际正值全球经济与技术变革加速推进之时，全球供应链以及生产、贸易与投资中心正在经历深刻调整。
Madbouly said the forum is taking place at a time of rapidly accelerating economic and technological changes globally, with supply chains and centers of production, trade and investment being reshaped.
“这些变革要求我们以全新视角看待非洲：它不仅是一个面临发展挑战的大陆，更是一个充满机遇、完全有能力成为新全球经济体系中重要参与者的地区。”他说道。
“These transformations require everyone to look at Africa not only as a continent facing development challenges, but also as one that offers real opportunities and has the ability to become an active part of the new global economy,” he said.
本次论坛的议题涵盖贸易、粮食安全、能源、基础设施建设、融资、数字化转型、人工智能及关键矿产资源开发。
The forum's agenda includes trade, food security, energy, infrastructure, financing, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and critical minerals.
论坛还致力于将各项发展优先事项转化为切实可行的项目与投资计划，进一步促进非洲内部贸易发展。
Discussions are also aimed at turning development priorities into implementable projects and investments, while boosting intra-African trade.

Egyptian Planning Minister Ahmed Rostom said Africa’s economy is estimated at around $3.6 trillion.

The African Union approved holding the Alamein-Africa Forum every two years in New Alamein at its February 2026 summit. The forum is co-organized by Egypt, the African Export-Import Bank, or Afreximbank and AUDA-NEPAD.
