Two men have been arrested after police found dozens of fuel containers in a van during a routine stop on the A1(M) in North Yorkshire.

A silver Mercedes Sprinter van was stopped at about 23:00 BST on Thursday near Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire Police said.

Officers noticed a strong smell of fuel coming from the vehicle leading to the discovery of about 40 containers.
司机因涉嫌无证驾驶被捕，两名男子均因涉嫌准备实施盗窃而被捕，目前他们仍被羁押。警方表示，除燃料容器外，他们还在车内发现了管道和手套。虽然这些容器看似为空，但车后部依然弥漫着浓重的燃油气味。警方发言人称，该面包车已被扣押以配合调查。
The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified, and both men were arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal. They currently remain in custody. The force said in addition to the containers they also found piping and gloves. Although the containers appeared to be empty, there was still a strong smell of fuel inside the rear of the van. A force spokesperson said the van had been seized as part of the investigation.
