A section of Canal Street was cordoned off Dan Hunt East Midlands 2 October 2026 A man has been taken to hospital and an area in Nottingham city centre has been taped off after a stabbing.

Police said emergency services were called to Canal Street at 16:53 BST on Friday after it received reports a man had been stabbed. The force said the man had been taken to hospital with injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening in nature. Officers have appealed for any witnesses to contact the force.

Another police cordon was put in place outside Loxley House Canal Street was shut between Carrington Street and the entrance to Broadmarsh car park, including the pavement outside Nottingham Crown Court all the way down to Trent Street. A second cordon was in place outside Loxley House, the headquarters of Nottingham City Council.
