Japanese opposition party Komeito launched a new leadership team under Mitsunari Okamoto, who was elected party leader at a convention in Tokyo on Saturday.
此前，公明党与中间改革联盟及日本立宪民主党试图进行的三方合并宣告失败。如今，公明党计划重整旗鼓，为明年春季的地方统一选举以及2028年的参议院选举做准备。
Following the collapse of the three-way merger with the Centrist Reform Alliance and the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, Komeito aims to rebuild the party ahead of unified local elections next spring and the election for the Senate, the upper parliamentary chamber, in 2028.
冈本在大会上呼吁全体党员“齐心协力，推行能让民众安心生活、充满希望的中间路线政治”。
Okamoto called on party members at the convention to “work together to realize centrist politics” that allow people to live with a sense of security and hope.
他称：“今天标志着新公明党的启航”，并敦促全体党员团结一致。
“Today marks the departure of a new Komeito,” he said, urging party members to unite.
这位新任党首还定下了在地方统一选举中让所有公明党候选人全部获胜的目标。
The new leader set a goal of victory for all party candidates in the unified local elections.

On Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s policy of a temporary reduction in the consumption tax on food products, Okamoto criticized it as ineffective in tackling inflation.

He also criticized a review of Japan’s three nonnuclear principles, another Takaichi policy, saying that it is against the country’s postwar stance.
现年61岁的冈本曾从事金融行业，先后六次当选为众议院议员。在中间改革联盟成立前，他曾担任公明党的政策负责人，联盟成立后也继续担任该职务。他的党首任期为期两年。
Okamoto, 61, who worked in the financial industry and was elected to the House of Representatives, the lower parliamentary chamber, six times, served as Komeito’s policy chief before the establishment of the CRA and later as its policy chief. His term of office as head of Komeito is two years.
64岁的西田实仁继续留任公明党干事长，48岁的前国土交通大臣中野洋昌则出任政策负责人兼代理干事长。
Makoto Nishida, 64, retained his post as Komeito secretary-general, while former land minister Hiromasa Nakano, 48, became policy chief and acting secretary-general.
此次领导层调整是在中间改革联盟解散、原属该联盟的公明党众议院议员回归本党后进行的。此前担任公明党党首的竹谷到子则转任代理党首。
The leadership team was reshuffled following the return of Lower House members to the party from the CRA due to its disbandment. Toshiko Takeya, who served as Komeito leader, became acting leader.
