Produced by Anadolu, “Salda: A Bridge to the Red Planet” focuses on the lake in the southwestern province of Burdur, examining its geological, ecological and biological characteristics and its significance for Mars research.

The 72-minute documentary explores Salda’s geological structure in light of scientific findings and highlights the lake’s distinctive natural environment, which also needs to be protected. The film features assessments and scientific findings from scientists, biologists, earth scientists, divers and NASA experts from Türkiye and the US.

Directed and produced by Atakan Kerkuklu, the documentary will be screened Oct. 9, the Public Day of IAC 2026. The congress, organized by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), is being held Oct. 5-9 at the NEST Congress and Exhibition Center in Antalya under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, with the Turkish Space Agency (TUA) and SAHA Istanbul as co-hosts.
