新德里消息：印度政府首席经济顾问V·阿南塔·纳格斯瓦兰表示，预计到明年3月底，印度在名义GDP规模上将超越日本，成为全球第四大经济体。
New Delhi – India is expected to overtake Japan to become the fourth-largest economy in nominal terms by the end of next March, V. Anantha Nageswaran, chief economic adviser to the Indian government, has said.
纳格斯瓦兰预测，到2027年3月底，印度的经济规模仍将排在美、中、德之后，不过今年内还无法实现对日本的超越。
Nageswaran predicted that India will rank behind the United States, China and Germany in global nominal gross domestic product rankings by the end of March 2027 but will not overtake Japan within this year as initially expected.
他在近期接受采访时指出，印度经济目前并无明显薄弱环节，今年4月至6月的经济增速更是达到了7.8%。他还强调，在创造就业机会与促进收入增长方面，印度的表现优于西方国家。
“You can’t say that there are too many weak spots” in the Indian economy, he said in a recent interview, noting that it grew 7.8% year on the year from April to June. He argued that India has done better on job creation and income growth than Western countries.
不过他也承认，青年失业率问题依然严峻，尤其是城市地区的女性就业情况不容乐观，相关改善措施推进缓慢。
At the same time, Nageswaran acknowledged that youth unemployment, particularly among women in urban areas, remains a problem, and that progress in addressing it has been slow.
此外，他强调农业对印度未来经济发展具有重要作用，认为目前印度尚未充分发挥农业领域的潜力，尤其在农产品附加值提升与深加工方面还有很大提升空间。
He said that New Delhi must focus more on agriculture as an industry that will drive future economic growth.
纳格斯瓦兰还提到，日本的中小企业体系积累了大量知识产权，印度可从中获益良多。他期望日本能在精密设备、机床及半导体等领域加大对印度的投资。
“I think we are not fully tapping the potential of the agriculture sector, especially value addition, aggregate processing” and so on, he said. “We need to do a lot more.”Nageswaran also said that Japan’s “small and medium enterprise ecosystem” has accumulated an enormous amount of intellectual property, from which India can benefit greatly. He expressed hopes for greater investment in India in fields such as precision equipment, machine tools and semiconductors.
