The government on Wednesday said it expects retail prices of onion to moderate further as Kharif crops have started to arrive in the market to support supplies from stored stocks of the rabi (winter-sown) season.
食品部在一份声明中强调，政府正密切关注洋葱的供应情况和价格动态。
In a statement, the food ministry asserted that the government is keeping a close watch on the availability as well as the price situation of onions.
声明补充道：“来自卡纳塔克邦、安得拉邦和拉贾斯坦邦等主要产区的夏季新鲜洋葱已开始上市，同时库存供应也持续满足市场需求。”此外，中央政府正以折扣价出售储备洋葱，以减轻民众负担。
”Fresh Kharif onion arrivals have commenced from major producing States, including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan, while availability from stored stocks continues to meet market demands,” it added. That apart, the Centre is offloading onions from its buffer stocks at a discounted rate to provide relief to common people.
食品部表示：“随着夏季新鲜洋葱供应预计将进一步增加，以及政府在节日季来临前加强分配力度，市场供应预计将得到有力保障，价格也将进一步回落。”印度全国洋葱平均零售价为每公斤53.78卢比。
”With fresh Kharif Onion supplies expected to gain further momentum and Government distribution efforts being strengthened ahead of the festive season, the supply position is expected to remain well supported and prices will further moderate,” the ministry said. The all-India average retail price of onion is ₹53.78 per kg.
2025-26年度洋葱产量预计为3073.7万吨，与上一年的3076.7万吨基本持平。
Onion production is estimated at 307.37 lakh tonne in 2025-26, broadly on par with the 307.67 lakh tonne in the previous year.

The ministry informed that the supply position has been improving, resulting in a broad-based moderation in onion prices across mandis and major consumer markets.

The arrivals from these producing regions are expected to increase further in the coming weeks, the ministry said. This would help improve overall availability in the consuming markets during the upcoming festive season.

”The production outlook for the Kharif crop is encouraging. All-India Kharif onion acreage is estimated to be around five per cent higher than last year’s already strong level, with crop conditions remaining favourable across major producing regions,” the statement said.
印度气象局预测，未来几周内主要夏收洋葱产区不会出现过量降雨。这将有助于洋葱作物的顺利收获、晾晒和运输，降低因潮湿导致作物受损的风险。
The IMD has forecast no excessive rains in key Kharif onion regions in the coming weeks. This will help in smooth harvesting, drying and movement of onion crops, reducing the risk of moisture-related crop damage.
关于马哈拉施特拉邦的洋葱市场（mandi）价格情况，中央政府表示，该邦的加权平均市场价格下降了近13%，从9月16日的每公担约4,030卢比降至10月3日的每公担约3,475卢比。
Regarding onion mandi price scenario in Maharashtra, the Centre said that the weighted average mandi price in Maharashtra declined nearly 13%, from around ₹4,030 per quintal on September 16 to about ₹3,475 per quintal on October 3.

On retail price, the ministry said that 126 cities have reported a decline of ₹1–21 per kg in retail onion prices over the past two weeks, with moderation observed in major consuming States including Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.
关于缓冲库存的投放，中央政府表示，目前已通过8列“Kanda Express”专列和467辆卡车，在123个城市投放了超过20万公担洋葱。
On the offloading of buffer stocks, the Centre said it has so far disposed of more than two lakh quintals through eight Kanda Express and 467 trucks across 123 cities.
政府表示，正对洋葱的到货量、库存及价格变动保持密切监控，并将采取必要措施，确保在需要时实现有序分配和充足供应。
The government said it is maintaining close oversight of arrivals, stocks and price movements. It will take necessary steps to facilitate orderly distribution and adequate availability wherever required.
