Pakistan on Thursday rejected a report claiming that its fighter jets were carrying out strikes against Houthi targets.

The denial came after The New York Times reported Wednesday that Pakistan Air Force fighter jets were being used in strikes against the Houthis. The newspaper cited a senior Pakistani military official who spoke anonymously.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said in a statement on the US social media company X that the report was "fake and fabricated."

It urged the international media to "avoid speculative reporting with regard to employment of Pakistan's Military Forces under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement." "Details of any employment, if necessary, will be given by concerned authorities," it added.
