US healthcare investment firm TCGX said it has secured $600 million in commitments for its first biotech fund that will invest in life sciences companies in Asia.
据TCGX介绍，这支名为“TCGX亚洲生命科学基金一期”的基金获得了多家国际机构投资者的支持，投资范围涵盖各类研发阶段的企业，重点扶持那些致力于开发面向全球市场的药物的企业。
In a statement, TCGX said the vehicle, TCGX Asia Life Sciences Fund I, is backed by international institutional investors and will invest across development stages, targeting companies developing medicines for global markets.
该基金将独立于TCGX现有的以美国和欧洲生物技术企业为主要投资对象的旗舰基金运作，同时可借助公司自身的广泛资源网络与投资能力。
The fund will operate separately from TCGX’s existing flagship funds, which focus on biotechnology companies in the US and Europe, while leveraging the firm’s broader network and investment capabilities.
为把握亚洲市场的机遇，TCGX还计划在上海和香港设立新办事处。公司指出，近年来亚洲地区的早期药物研发活动日益活跃，科研水平与创业人才储备也不断提升。
TCGX is also expanding its Asian operations with new offices in Shanghai and Hong Kong, citing growth in early-stage drug discovery and the quality of scientific research and entrepreneurial talent in the region.

The latest development comes as healthcare companies in Southeast Asia continue to come to the M&A market to tap new investors as capital needs grow and shareholders look for liquidity.
