The Danny Fire started at roughly 4:50 p.m. local time on Thursday near the unincorporated community of Gorman and has grown to 141 acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. The area is about 70 miles (113 kilometers) northwest of Downtown Los Angeles.
Highway 138 was also closed as crews worked to stop the fire’s spread. The left flank of the blaze is the priority for structure defense, with activity diminishing at the head, but still making small runs, CalFire said. The fire is 7% contained, according to Watch Duty, a disaster-tracking and alert platform.
