首尔，10月9日：SK集团会长崔泰源周五表示，芯片制造商SK海力士计划尽快在韩国西南部地区兴建工厂，寄望于市场需求的强劲增长。不过他并未透露具体的开工时间。
SEOUL, Oct 9 : SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won said on Friday that chipmaker SK Hynix plans to build plants in southwestern South Korea as fast as possible, betting on robust demand growth, while declining to say when construction will begin.
“我们预计市场需求将持续以相当快的速度增长，”崔泰源在视察光州新建半导体产业中心的预定选址时对记者说道。
"We estimate demand will keep growing at a considerably fast pace," Chey told reporters during a visit to the planned site of a new semiconductor hub in Gwangju.
他表示，SK集团此前已将位于龙仁的另一座芯片产业园的建设时间表提前了12年，但即便如此仍显不足。“如有必要，我们或许需要同步推进多个项目的建设，”他说道。
He said SK had already brought forward the timeline for another chip complex in Yongin by 12 years, but even this was not sufficient. "If necessary, it seems we may have to build in parallel," he said.
目前SK海力士已将龙仁半导体产业集群的完工时间从原定的2045年提前至2033年，届时计划建成四座制造工厂。
SK Hynix has set a goal of bringing forward the completion of its Yongin Semiconductor Cluster to 2033 from the originally planned 2045, when it aims to complete four fabrication plants.
崔泰源称，光州产业集群的开工时间取决于政府的水电供应规划能否与SK集团的施工计划相匹配，但他强调公司希望尽快动工。
Chey said the start date of the Gwangju cluster would depend on aligning the government's water and power plans with SK's construction schedule, but added the company is looking to start construction as soon as possible.
“即便水电供应稍晚到位，只要能迅速完成打桩作业，我们就会率先开工，”他解释道。他还表示，公司并无压缩建设成本的打算。
"Even if water and power come later, as long as we can complete the piling quickly, I think we will go in first," he said, referring to the construction process, adding that the company was not seeking to reduce construction costs.
“目前我还无法给出确切的开工时间，因为还需要进一步研究，但可以肯定的是我们会以最快速度推进，”他说道，并补充称具体时间表很可能很快就会公布。
"I can't give an answer today on when that will be, because we need to study it more, but what I am saying is that we will go as fast as possible," he said, adding that a timeline would probably be announced soon.
据他介绍，SK集团目前规划的光州产业园规模约为龙仁产业园的三分之二。如果后续能获得更多土地且市场需求旺盛，该项目有望进一步扩大。
He said SK's current plan for Gwangju was for it to be about two-thirds the size of Yongin. If more land became available and demand warranted it, he expected the project could expand further.

Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix each plan to invest about 400 trillion won ($298.15 billion) to build two chip fabs apiece in the Gwangju chip cluster, which will span an area of about 8.26 million square metres on the site of Gwangju's military airport, which is due to be relocated, and a neighbouring ammunition depot.
