Mokhtar Ould Djay was reappointed prime minister on Friday and tasked with forming a new government.

The presidency said Ould Djay was reappointed under a decree by President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani. The decision came hours after Ould Djay submitted the resignation of his government following the presid ent’s receipt of a report of an independent investigation committee into fires at two main electricity substations in the capital Nouakchott.
报告认定，8月21日和22日发生的火灾是由于一些不符合技术标准的电气连接件所致，这些部件是由一家私营企业进口的。
The report concluded that the fires, which broke out on Aug. 21 and 22, were caused by electrical connectors that did not meet required technical standards and had been imported by a private company.

He previously held several senior state positions, including head of the presidential office and economy and finance minister.
