The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has designated retired IAS officer Nagaraju Maddirala as chairman and managing director of Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS) for two years from the date he assumes charge.

In an order dated October 12, 2026, the ministry said the tenure of Nand Kishore as IL&FS chairman and managing director ended on September 30, 2026.

Maddirala, a 1993-batch IAS officer, was appointed to the IL&FS board by an order issued by the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on October 1, 2026. The ministry designated him chairman and managing director following his appointment as a director. He will receive a monthly remuneration of ₹5.5 lakh, along with a company car and company-leased accommodation.
