MDA Space has a market value of C$6.51 billion ($4.57 billion).

“If we want to be a global defense and technology group, we have to be in space,” Strnad said of the investment in exclusive comments sent to Bloomberg by email. “I believe it will be one of the fastest-growing parts of defense, and if we do it right, in a few years it can become an important part of CSG’s revenues.”With the investment, CSG sees potential to co-invest in manufacturing or assembly facilities in Europe, team up on acquisitions and support international growth of MDA Space, which is listed on stock exchanges in Toronto and New York.
