据官方媒体报道，中国法院周二以电信诈骗、赌博等罪名，判处三个缅甸籍犯罪团伙的主要头目死刑。
Chinese courts sentenced three leading members of a Myanmar-based criminal gang to death Tuesday for crimes including telecom fraud and gambling, state media reported.
据新华社报道，福建省东部的泉州市中级人民法院及南安市法院对魏氏犯罪团伙的成员作出了上述判决。
The Intermediate People’s Court of Quanzhou and a court in Nan’an, both in eastern Fujian province, handed down the sentences against members of the Wei family criminal network, according to state-run Xinhua News Agency.
另有三名被告被判处无期徒刑，其余55名被告则被判处三年三个月至24年不等的有期徒刑。法院还判处了罚金、没收财产及驱逐出境等附加刑罚。
Three other defendants received life imprisonment, while 55 were sentenced to prison terms ranging from three years and three months to 24 years. The courts also imposed additional penalties, including fines, confiscation of property and deportation.
据中国有关部门介绍，该犯罪集团在缅甸果敢地区设立犯罪据点，从事电信诈骗、赌博、敲诈勒索等非法活动。
The syndicate operated criminal compounds in Myanmar’s Kokang region, engaging in telecom fraud, gambling, extortion and other illegal activities, according to Chinese authorities.
此次判决正值中国政府加大打击在缅甸境内活动的跨境诈骗网络之际。
The verdicts come amid Beijing’s intensified crackdown on cross-border scam networks operating in Myanmar.
据阿纳多卢通讯社此前报道，今年2月，中国处决了15名在缅甸犯罪的团伙成员，他们均被认定犯有谋杀、电信诈骗及贩毒等罪行。
In February, China executed 15 members of Myanmar-based criminal gangs convicted of offenses including murder, telecom fraud and drug trafficking, Anadolu previously reported.
目前，中国还加强与缅甸、泰国的合作，以捣毁诈骗据点并遣返涉案人员。据中国官方数据，去年共有7600余名涉嫌电信诈骗的中国公民从缅甸被遣返回国。
China has also expanded cooperation with Myanmar and Thailand to dismantle scam compounds and repatriate suspects. More than 7,600 Chinese nationals suspected of telecom fraud were repatriated from Myanmar last year, according to Chinese authorities.
