The Turkish state development aid agency worked to support education in the African nation of South Sudan by donating 150 desks to a primary school, a move aimed at improving classroom conditions and creating a more conducive learning environment for pupils.
在向马哈德小学交付课桌时，土耳其合作与协调署（TIKA）在南苏丹的项目协调员穆斯塔法·吉雷·杰泽尔表示，此次捐赠是该机构持续努力支持该国教育事业的一部分。
Handing over the desks to Mahad Primary School, Mustafa Giray Jezel, program coordinator in South Sudan of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), said the donation is part of the agency's ongoing efforts to support education in the country.

"We are here handing over 150 desks for school pupils. We hope it will help create an even more conducive environment for the learners. The Turkish agency is ready to support education in South Sudan," said Jezel.

TIKA's projects primarily focus on vocational training, alongside numerous other initiatives including strengthening administrative and social infrastructure, healthcare services, and providing clean water and borehole drilling.

Jezel said his visit to the school was part of an ongoing education support project, adding that he would visit the school again when other projects undertaken by TIKA are implemented.

Al-Nur Kur, director of the Mahad Institute, based in South Sudan’s capital Juba, emphasized the importance of the support provided by TIKA for achieving educational success, saying that such projects help create a conducive learning environment.

Kur said the Mahad Primary School includes learners whose families have been buffeted by persistent economic shocks, leading to a shortage of desks for primary school learners.
