By Francois de Beaupuy Electricite de France SA agreed to sell its unit developing clean hydrogen projects in France and the UK to infrastructure fund Hy24, as the state-owned utility prioritizes investments in nuclear reactors and other power sectors.

The sale of Hynamics to Hy24, a fund jointly owned by private equity investors Ardian and FiveT Hydrogen, should be completed in the first quarter of next year pending regulatory approvals, EDF said in a statement Wednesday.

The divestment will allow the business to accelerate the development of its project portfolio, Julien Villeret, EDF’s head of innovation, said in the statement. Hynamics produces and markets clean hydrogen for the heavy transport and industrial sectors.
