She went to 42 Trump rallies, sold everything to follow his campaign, and devoted years of her life to MAGA. Then, Trump's handling of the Epstein files changed everything.
[INDISTINCT CHATTER] DONIE O'SULLIVAN: I had not realized, until I saw this, how really extensive it is. TRISHA HOPE: I've seen and read a lot of this, but to see it all lined up, it's pretty hard to ignore. [MUSIC PLAYING] DONIE O'SULLIVAN: We're here in Dallas, Texas, the temporary home of the Donald J. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Reading Room.
This traveling exhibit chronicles the two men's relationship and holds all 3.5 million pages of the Epstein files the Justice Department has made public. TRISHA HOPE: This is his art, a little disgusting. DONIE O'SULLIVAN: Trisha Hope has traveled from her home in Houston to visit the installation.
These are what all the files would look like if they were to be laid out like this. How do you feel as you see it all here? TRISHA HOPE: Overwhelmed. Overwhelmed. These are people's lives. I'm sorry. All the president's tweets. DONIE O'SULLIVAN: Until recently, Trisha was a Trump supporter.
In fact, MAGA was her whole life. - We love Trump! We love Trump! TRISHA HOPE: My husband and I, we sold everything, bought an RV. We had a blast. We met a lot of people, and we would meet them at the rallies. And we'd go sometimes two a day, if we could swing them.
re just driving, sleeping in the car, doing whatever we needed to do. [CHEERING] DONIE O'SULLIVAN: I think it's hard for people who maybe don't like Trump. They see these rallies, and they say, oh, it's silly and it's spectacle. But actually, when you're there, it feels really special.
TRISHA HOPE: It does. It's very patriotic feeling. And it felt really good to be among people who loved America and felt the patriotism and listened to the music. So it was a lot of fun. DONIE O'SULLIVAN: When did things start coming off the rails on your Trump train?
TRISHA HOPE: July 8, 2025, when Trump had his cabinet meeting and the reporter asked the question I wanted answered about the Epstein files. - So can you say why there was a minute missing from the jailhouse tape on the night of the 7th? PAM BONDI: Yeah, sure. DONALD TRUMP: Pam, could I just interrupt for one second? TRISHA HOPE: And he said, are we still talking about the Epstein files? DONALD TRUMP: Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein?
TRISHA HOPE: I swear to you, a light went off, the shades lifted, and I saw him in a completely different way. And I've not been able to unsee it.
I'm so upset with the behavior of President Trump. I was sitting in the parking lot, getting ready to go into a funeral. That was the moment. I wasn't expecting it. I thought he cared. And it didn't seem that he did. That was the moment. And then I started looking at everything critically. DONIE O'SULLIVAN: And what did you start to find?
TRISHA HOPE: A lot of lies, a lot of deception. He became a car salesman to me. Anything he said, I just didn't believe.
DONIE O'SULLIVAN: Does any of this make you wonder if what Trump was saying about 2020 election and it being stolen, that that might also be a lie?
TRISHA HOPE: I just know what I saw on the ground, at the rallies, the enthusiasm. And so those things are kind of hard to erase in my mind. I do believe the election was stolen. There's so much misinformation about it.
So I could be wrong. DONIE O'SULLIVAN: Why the Epstein files, do you think? TRISHA HOPE: The innocence of young girls. I have daughters. And it wasn't like I was campaigning hard for the Epstein files to be released during that process. It's just that I expected they would be because he said they would be. - It's just very strange for a lot of people that the list of clients that went to the island has not been made public. DONALD TRUMP: Yeah. It's very interesting, isn't it? - So if you're able to, you'll be-- DONALD TRUMP: Yeah, I'd certainly take a look at it.
But yeah, I'd be inclined to do the Epstein-- I'd have no problem with it. DONIE O'SULLIVAN: Trump himself has denied any wrongdoing involving Epstein. As you see the extent of Trump's relationship with Epstein laid out now, how do you feel? TRISHA HOPE: Sick. I feel sick. I put my life on hold to support this man, that I clearly didn't understand who he was.
I also feel a little ashamed that I didn't do more to discover more about him. I should have looked harder. DONIE O'SULLIVAN: While at the exhibit, Trisha met with Danny Bensky. DANI BENSKY: Hi. Nice to meet you. TRISHA HOPE: It's very nice to meet you.
DONIE O'SULLIVAN: Dani was a 17-year-old aspiring ballerina in New York City when she was sent to Jeffrey Epstein's townhouse as a masseuse. More than a year of sexual abuse followed. She's become an advocate for justice, even testifying before Congress. DANNY BENSKY: Thank you so much for coming and being a part of this and taking the time to support.
I would love to hear-- TRISHA HOPE: I'm so sorry. I just-- DANNY BENSKY: Can I hug you? TRISHA HOPE: So sorry. I can't imagine. DANI BENSKY: Thank you. TRISHA HOPE: There are people who care, a lot of people who care. They may just be learning, but they care. DANI BENSKY: Thank you for saying. TRISHA HOPE: It's true. DANI BENSKY: Means a lot.
TRISHA HOPE:
TRISHA HOPE: I was a Trump supporter for a long time and-- I mean, a really hardcore Trump supporter, 42 rallies. And I am so sorry for any pain.
DANI BENSKY:
DANI BENSKY: I'm so grateful that you took in that moment and were able to really see it for what it is.
TRISHA HOPE: I am too. I am sorry we didn't see you. DANI BENSKY: Thank you. TRISHA HOPE: And I won't make that mistake again. DANI BENSKY: Thank you.
DONIE O'SULLIVAN:
DONIE O'SULLIVAN: Trisha still stands by many of Trump's policies, but today considers herself politically homeless. For now, she's looking to make amends.
TRISHA HOPE:
TRISHA HOPE: I think there's enough common ground for Americans to come together for the love of the country and put all the other stuff aside. I'm a bit of a fighter, and I'm in this fight now. [MUSIC PLAYING]
