EQT is preparing to expand into infrastructure secondaries following its acquisition of Coller Capital, with hiring an investment team its immediate priority as the Swedish private markets firm develops the strategy.

The firm needs to find the right people to run the business, Segerberg said, adding that it would take time to develop the strategy. EQT had completed its acquisition of Coller Capital only about 45 days ago, he noted.

The move would extend Coller EQT’s established private equity and private credit secondaries capabilities into a new asset class. EQT had previously identified infrastructure and real estate secondaries as areas under development as it seeks to expand its secondaries platform.

The firm has attributed market growth to investors seeking liquidity and fund managers looking to retain attractive assets for longer.

Coller EQT is also preparing to launch its next private equity secondary fund, CIP X, in early 2027. It has begun fundraising for its third private credit secondaries fund, CCO III, according to EQT’s quarterly announcement.
