America Healthy Again groups are spending nearly $2 million ahead of the November midterms in an effort to elect candidates who have made Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s movement targeting chronic disease a centerpiece of their campaigns.

The new spending is the most significant outlay from Kennedy-aligned groups since they helped Rep. Julia Letlow defeat Sen. Bill Cassidy in a Louisiana Republican primary in May. Cassidy had criticized Kennedy’s efforts to reduce the number of vaccines the government recommends.

On Thursday, the MAHA PAC and MAHA Action PAC, two political action committees supporting candidates committed to the health secretary’s agenda, announced they donated a combined $1.65 million to support Republican Zach Lahn's campaign for governor of Iowa.

"MAHA was the first to believe in Zach Lahn, and the Iowa Republicans proved us right," said MAHA Action PAC President Tony Lyons in a news release. "The primary showed this movement can nominate. Lyons’ MAHA groups said they’ve also spent $250,000 backing five Republicans seeking House seats and an independent representative who caucuses with the GOP: Republican Rep. Kevin Kiley of California; and Texas Republican candidates Brandon Herrera and Jace Yarbrough.

She’s in a tighter-than-expected race for a third term representing a Gulf coast district west of Tampa. She was Kennedy’s guest on his podcast earlier this month.

The MAHA groups’ spending in Iowa comes as the state is shaping up to be a crucial battleground in determining control of Congress. Iowa farmers are suffering under Trump’s tariffs and high diesel prices and fertilizer prices stemming from the war in Iran.

Lyons had pledged to back candidates Trump supports in order to strengthen the Kennedy-Trump alliance. But Trump weighed in for Feenstra just before the June primary, six months after MAHA backed Lahn.

“We’re talking about millions of voters who just fell into our lap like manna from heaven, and we’re just gonna let them walk away.”In early October, fundraising reports from Lyons’ MAHA PAC showed fewer than 20 donors this year, totaling $1 million. Many of those donors are companies with interests before the Health Department, according to a POLITICO analysis. Before the Thursday announcement, the PAC had spent less than $800,000 to support candidates in federal races this year. Lyons did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
