NAGOYA, Japan -- Toho Gas has invested in a solar power project in the U.S. state of Texas under a deal that will allow the Toyota Motor group to receive credit for using renewable energy, the Japanese energy company said Friday.

Toho Gas and an American power generation unit of Japanese trading house Mitsubishi Corp. will build a solar farm on a roughly 3.2-square-kilometer site east of Dallas with an output capacity of 150.77 megawatts. The facility is scheduled to begin commercial operations in March 2029.
