Financial Inc. agreed to sell its operations in Brazil and Mexico to CNP Assurances Group in a $4 billion transaction.

The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2027, pending regulatory authorizations, according to a statement Tuesday.

“This transaction positions Prudential of Brazil and Prudential of Mexico for continued success with an owner committed to its customers, employees and distribution partners,” Chief Executive Officer Andy Sullivan said in the statement. “We remain focused on narrowing our geographic footprint and building a simpler, more focused Prudential.”Prudential has been seeking to streamline its operations by disposing of assets in emerging markets. Sullivan is shrinking the company’s footprint and redeploying money to businesses that depend less heavily on capital, as a way to boost earnings.
