Joel Kaplan, Meta’s chief global affairs officer, will leave the company in 2027 after more than 15 years, Bloomberg reported. He will stay through the US midterm elections. No successor was named, but president Dina Powell McCormick and chief legal officer C.J. Mahoney are taking on more policy work.

Joel Kaplan, Meta’s chief global affairs officer, is leaving the company, Bloomberg reported, citing a company representative. He will stay through the US midterm elections in November and leave in 2027, after more than 15 years at Meta.

Kaplan, a long-time adviser to chief executive Mark Zuckerberg with strong Republican ties, joined Meta in 2011 to run its US policy team. He previously worked on George W. Bush’s campaign and in his White House.
