UC San Francisco Law Dean David Faigman said Tuesday that the school is “pleased to see this chapter behind us” and that the decision to rename the school followed a “robust process.”Attorney Gregory Michael, who represented the Hastings descendants and law school alumni who sued to reverse the name change, said the plaintiffs are disappointed that the Supreme Court turned away their case.
