Pakistan said Tuesday that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) offers a "compelling" opportunity for regional countries to achieve comprehensive economic integration.
巴基斯坦外长伊沙克·达尔在塔吉克斯坦杜尚别举行的上海合作组织（SCO）政府首脑理事会会议上表示，这个数十亿美元的项目“为每个SCO伙伴提供了极具吸引力的机会，让他们参与并加速我们共同走向全面经济一体化的旅程”。CPEC是中国“一带一路”项目的一部分，旨在通过一条2000英里长的公路、铁路和管道网络，将中国西北部的新疆省与巴基斯坦西南部的俾路支省连接起来。
Speaking at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government meeting in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said the multibillion-dollar project "offers every SCO partner a compelling opportunity to participate in and accelerate our shared journey toward comprehensive economic integration." CPEC, which is part of China's One Belt, One Road project, aims to connect its northwestern Xinjiang province to Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province through a 2,000-mile network of roads, railways and pipelines.

To achieve "seamless" economic integration, according to Dar, targeted investments in core sectors – most notably in energy and transport – are vital.

Artificial intelligence, digital transformation, innovation, energy cooperation and international information security should become important pillars of future cooperation within the SCO, he further said.

He reiterated the need to accelerate efforts to promote the use of national currencies for mutual settlement and to establish the SCO Development Bank, SCO Development Fund and an Investment Fund.
达尔指出，如果没有该地区持久的和平与安全，就无法保障可持续的经济发展。
Sustainable economic development, Dar observed, cannot be guaranteed without durable peace and security in the region.

In return, Pakistan has only one expectation from the Afghan Taliban regime: that Afghan territory should not be used for terrorism against Pakistan and the world, he said. Dar met Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin on the sidelines of the meeting.
