Singapore-based semiconductor materials maker Mi Material launched a public offering of 77.5 million shares at $1.80 apiece on Monday, aiming to raise roughly $215 million. The listing marks one of the larger technology share sales to reach the Singapore market this year.
The company said proceeds would fund a push into new markets, including manufacturing and sales operations in the United States and Malaysia, as it looks to diversify its customer base beyond existing semiconductor supply chains. Executives said demand from chipmakers for specialised materials has continued to grow.
The offering adds to a recent run of technology listings on the Singapore Exchange, as officials there seek to deepen the bourse's tech sector after years dominated by banks, property trusts and shipping groups. Trading in the new shares is expected to begin shortly after the offer closes.
