Australian pension fund investor IFM Investors has taken a 64% stake in Associated British Ports in one of the biggest UK deals of the year.

The purchase values the UK’s largest port operator at about £10 billion ($13.4 billion), according to a person familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified discussing confidential information.

IFM, which already owns European ports including in Poland and Turkey, beat out rivals including Apollo Global Management Inc. and KKR & Co., which Bloomberg News reported were also vying for the stake.

Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Omers each sold their stakes in the company, which has 19 facilities, according to a statement Tuesday. The investors had been invested since 2015 and 2006, respectively.

The deal is one of the largest in the UK this year, with others including Nuveen’s £9.9 billion purchase of asset manager Schroders Plc and Apollo’s £5.7 billion takeover of budget airline EasyJet Plc.
AB Ports交易尚需经过正常的股东和监管批准，预计将于2027年上半年完成。
The AB Ports deal is subject to the normal shareholder and regulatory approvals and is expected to complete in the first half of 2027.
