Italy and Spain will end their mutual border checks at airports and ports that were introduced in August after the migrant crisis in Ceuta. Italy’s Giorgia Meloni and Spain’s Pedro Sánchez reached an agreement Thursday morning to end the checks on Oct. 23 following a call between the two countries’ respective interior ministers, Fernando Grande-Marlaska and Matteo Piantedosi, Spanish media reported.
