东京（共同社）——日本外务省称，日本驻俄罗斯大使馆一名官员周一对在该国被拘留近两周的一名日本公民进行了领事探视。
TOKYO (Kyodo) -- A Japanese Embassy official in Russia conducted a consular visit Monday with a Japanese national detained in the country nearly two weeks ago, according to the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
外务省表示，这名日本公民已从萨哈林州首府南萨哈林斯克被转移至莫斯科，没有健康问题。
The ministry said the Japanese national, who had been transferred to Moscow from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the capital of Sakhalin oblast in the Russian Far East, had no health issues.
俄罗斯安全机构于10月13日称，一名北海道报纸的记者因涉嫌间谍活动在萨哈林被拘留。
Russia's security agency said on Oct. 13 that a journalist at a Hokkaido newspaper was taken into custody in Sakhalin on suspicion of espionage.
外务省在一份声明中表示，日本“强烈敦促俄罗斯政府立即释放该日本公民，并确保人道主义待遇以及公正、无私的对待”。
Japan "strongly urges the Russian government to immediately release the Japanese national and ensure humanitarian consideration and fair and impartial treatment," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
在该人员被拘留后，日本政府曾寻求尽早进行领事探视，但未能如愿。一项双边条约规定，在人员被拘留后四天内享有领事探视权。
The Japanese government had unsuccessfully sought to hold a consular visit at an early date following the individual's detainment. A bilateral treaty provides for the right to consular access within four days of a person being taken into custody.
