Apple Introduces AI Assistant Powered by OpenAI and Model Context Protocol Support Across Core Apps Apple announced a beta AI assistant powered by models from Apple and OpenAI for its productivity suite, including Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Logic Pro. The assistant assists users with designing presentation slides, drafting text, and organizing spreadsheet data. In addition, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers are receiving support for the Model Context Protocol on macOS 27 or later, allowing third-party AI agents to integrate into the software.

The assistant is rolling out to Apple Intelligence-compatible devices operating on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27 or later. Apple also announced creative app updates, including a Generate Fill feature for Pixelmator Pro, an AI assistant and redesign for Logic Pro, and integrated Content Hub tools for Final Cut Pro arriving in November.
