Pincus improved its takeover offer for Australian retirement living operator Ingenia Communities Group, the latest in a slew of bids that now value the firm at around A$2.2 billion ($1.6 billion).

Warburg offered a total cash value of A$5.50 per share for the firm, Ingenia said in a statement on Wednesday. That tops a bid announced earlier this week from AVID Property Group Holdings by 10 cents per stapled security, the statement said.

The offer is subject to Ingenia approving Warburg’s co-investors, Discovery Parks Holdings Pty and LDR Capital, with Discovery proposing to acquire Ingenia’s holiday parks business and LDR Capital taking its gardens business. Discovery is majority owned by Australian Retirement Trust, the country’s second-largest pension.
