Judge Rennie also ruled on Tuesday that the statute of limitations in France should apply, rather than the United States, since the Macrons live in Paris.

Ms Owens’s legal team lobbied for this change and argued the couple was “intentionally forum shopping because being held to France’s three months would have naturally expired their claims”.

The Telegraph understands the lawsuit is in regard to false comments about Ms Macron’s gender.

Ms Owens has been sued twice for defamation in the past seven months over her commentary on the killing of Charlie Kirk the Turning Point USA co-founder. Those cases were filed in Tennessee and Utah, and are both pending.
