Malaysia Seizes $12.1 Million in Suspected Smuggled AI Chips at Kuala Lumpur Airport Malaysian customs said on Oct. 28 that it seized about 49.5 million ringgit ($12.11 million) worth of advanced AI chips this month.

Airport customs director Aspalila Ag Tuah said officers found 30 server units containing the chips on Oct. 15 during an inspection in Kuala Lumpur International Airport's free trade zone. The shipment, originating in one Asian country for re-export to another, was falsely declared as electronic components and lacked a required trade permit.
