A man has died following an attack at a centre housing migrants in Ireland. The man was found with serious injuries on Saturday morning at the International Protection Accommodation Services (IPAS) centre in Tralee, Co Kerry, and later died. A second man - in his 40s - was also injured. Another man, aged in his 40s, was arrested following the incident.

A spokesperson for the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration said it had responded to a critical incident at the centre.

They added: "An Garda Síochána has commenced a criminal investigation and, while this is under way, the department cannot comment further on the matter at this time." A Garda spokesman said a report of an assault was made around 5.20am on Saturday at a residential property in Ballymullen.
