香港警方在周一凌晨一起发生于跨境检查站的撞车逃逸事件引发10小时追捕后，逮捕了一名涉嫌危险驾驶的男子。
Hong Kong police arrested a man on suspicion of furious driving after a 10-hour manhunt sparked by a hit-and-run crash at a cross-boundary checkpoint in the early hours of Monday.
警方称，一辆汽车在凌晨1时17分撞上港珠澳大桥检查站的闸机。该事件被归类为仅造成财产损失的交通事故和撞车逃逸。
Police said a car hit a barrier gate at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge checkpoint at 1.17am. The incident was classified as a damage-only traffic accident and a hit-and-run.
警员在上午约10时30分在屯门青山公路海翼路附近找到该车并展开追捕，于上午11时08分在海辉路将其拦截。
Officers located the car near Hoi Wing Road in Tuen Mun’s Castle Peak area at about 10.30am and gave chase, intercepting it on Hoi Wong Road at 11.08am.
该司机是一名三十多岁的男子，涉嫌危险驾驶被捕。新界南交通总队正在调查此案。
The driver, a man in his thirties, was arrested on suspicion of furious driving. The New Territories South traffic team is investigating.

A police source said officers from the Airport Security Unit and Emergency Unit had tried to stop the driver after the car hit the gate, but he escaped.

CCTV footage obtained by South China Morning Post shows the car managing to escape despite being surrounded by three police vehicles shortly after it rammed the gate. A photograph taken at the checkpoint shows minor damage to the gate.

The source said police later located the car in Tuen Mun using the force’s “SmartView” CCTV system and deployed officers to clear roads and block lanes.

“When three Emergency Unit police cars approached him, he stepped on the gas and fled, hitting our police car near Hoi Wah Road,” the source said.

Eventually, it was stopped by our police car on Hoi Wong Road.”An online video showed two police vehicles trying to block lanes at the junction of Hoi Wing Road and Hoi Wong Road, but the car avoided them at high speed.
该消息人士称，该男子还涉及早前在元朗八乡发生的一起撞车逃逸事件。
The source said the man had also been involved in an earlier hit-and-run incident in Pat Heung, Yuen Long.
另一名消息人士称，警方迄今在车内未发现任何可疑物品，被捕男子似乎也没有被警方通缉。
Another source said officers had so far found nothing suspicious in the car and the arrested man did not appear to be wanted by police.
