The ChatGPT desktop app can be a confusing piece of software, given that there are ChatGPT and Codex sections, and within the former, there are Chat and Work tabs. With so many options, it’s sometimes easy to forget where you are working and where exactly your project is.
根据发给用户的邮件，OpenAI显然正着手解决这一问题，目前正准备将ChatGPT体验中的Chat和Work标签页合并。OpenAI表示，这一体验最初将面向部分用户开放以收集反馈，随后再广泛推出。
In an apparent effort to address this, OpenAI is now gearing up to merge the Chat and Work tabs within the ChatGPT experience, according to an email sent to users. OpenAI said that initially, this experience will be available to select users for feedback before it is rolled out widely.
邮件称：“这将使你能够从一个想法的探索，一路推进到由ChatGPT将其落实，全部在同一处完成。你可以导入文件和插件，让ChatGPT为你搭建网站、制作演示文稿，或在网页上替你办事，同时你还能审阅并指导它的工作。Codex在ChatGPT桌面应用中仍将是一个独立的体验。”
“This will enable you to move from exploring an idea to having ChatGPT carry it through, all in one place. You can bring in your files and plugins and ask ChatGPT to build a website, create a presentation, or do things for you on the web, while reviewing and guiding its work. Codex will remain a separate experience in the ChatGPT desktop app,” the email said.
OpenAI还表示，随着这一过渡，ChatGPT和Codex将从同一个额度池中消耗token。OpenAI称，这一变化不会影响大多数用户，但根据使用量和所用模型的不同，一些人可能需要更频繁地等待额度重置。
OpenAI also said with this transition, both ChatGPT and Codex will draw tokens from the same allowance pool. It said this change won’t impact most users, but based on usage and model, some folks might need to wait for resets more frequently.
竞争对手Anthropic已于9月将Claude的聊天和Cowork功能合并到同一界面中。
Rival Anthropic merged Claude’s chat and Cowork functions into one screen in September.
