Greece signed a deal to acquire three KC-390 Millennium military transport aircraft, with options for three more, through a government-to-government agreement with Portugal, Brazilian manufacturer Embraer said Monday.

Athens is expected to receive its first aircraft in 2027, strengthening its airlift and aerial refueling capabilities, the company said in a statement.

The acquisition will also improve interoperability with NATO allies and create opportunities for cooperation in training, support and logistics across Europe, according to Embraer.

Greece becomes the seventh European country to select the aircraft, joining Portugal, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic and Sweden, the company said.
据巴西航空工业公司介绍，KC-390可搭载26吨载荷，并可执行部队和货物运输、医疗撤离、搜索救援、灭火和人道主义行动等任务。
According to Embraer, the KC-390 can carry a payload of 26 tons and perform missions including troop and cargo transport, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting and humanitarian operations.
制造商称，该机型可在临时或未铺设跑道起降，配备空中加油系统后，既可作为加油机也可作为受油机。公司未披露合同金额。
The aircraft can operate from temporary or unpaved runways and, when equipped with aerial refueling systems, function as both a tanker and a receiver, the manufacturer said. The company did not disclose the contract's value.
