Nigeria’s opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Tuesday accused the country’s secret police of plotting to disrupt its campaign rally in northwestern Sokoto State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Abubakar claimed that the protesters were assembling at an office behind Zenith Bank on Koko Road in Sokoto and being transported in trucks to strategic locations across the city. He alleged that some had begun obstructing traffic, threatening motorists and assaulting residents.
